Discovering hidden talent

FRANCISTOWN: Ndiye Makgoeng, 29 has never been to school to learn landscaping designs. But he understands the elements of nature and blends them accordingly.


He discovered his talent by chance through a book in his frequent visits to the library.

"I got this idea in a book at the library and later tried it because I liked a garden in Italy I once saw on television," says Makgoeng. He explains that the front entrance is one of the most important areas of the landscape and it should welcome people into a home. He laments that a majority of Batswana do not appreciate the beauty of landscapes and his intention is to introduce it to the people.
