Disabled need special support

Botswana has made significant and laudable strides in the development of its education system, increasing access to educational opportunities for many of its citizens, but access has not been as easy for the disabled, according to the executive director of the Botswana College of Distance and Open Learning (BOCODOL), Dr Daniel Tau.

He was speaking yesterday at a one-day stakeholders' consultation workshop on academic support for learners in special circumstances.

The workshop was intended to help define learners in special circumstances, and to outline, with the assistance of stakeholders, effective ways of supporting learners in special circumstances.
