The last two months are reported to have been torturous at Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board (BAMB) where crime busters, the DIS and DCEC have been camping there for three months now, investigating a wide range of cases of impropriety at the institution.

On Saturday the BAMB boss Masego Mphathi confirmed to The Monitor that three of his managers were being investigated by the DIS, but said he was not briefed in full about the nature of the investigations. Mphathi said when the investigators first started they approached the chairman of the Board who gave them the go ahead to start their job. Mphathi welcomed the DIS and DCEC teams saying hopefully the investigations would put into perspective any rot that could be going on at his organisation.

The Monitor is informed that DIS and DCEC are investigating instances in which colossal amounts of fertilisers bought from a company in South Africa were dumped at BAMB's 11 branches across the country even though the brand of fertilisers is not popular among local farmers.
