DIS agent faces threat to kill charge

A Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS) agent appeared before the Extension II Magistrate, Dlamini-Ngandu on a charge of threat to kill.

The DIS agent is said to have threatened Ontimile Phuthego uttering the words: "O a ntia. Kana golo fa ke tsere tshwetso. Ke a go go bolaya ke bo ke ipolaya - You are wasting my time. I have taken the decision to kill you and then commit suicide".

The incident is said to have happened in Modipane on July 28 last year. However, the state prosecutor, Friday Leburu made an application for withdrawal after he told the court that Phuthego has since indicated that he does not want to continue with the case. He told the court that procedurally Phuthego has to make a statement with the police stating his intention to withdraw.
