The police have shared that the pair had spent the evening consuming alcohol at a local pub and then proceeded to the victim’s home after the pub closed for the night. Dibete Police Station commander, Superintendent Meshack Ranku explained that the victim has claimed that upon arriving at her home, the suspect, who is currently evading capture, threatened and raped her.
The incident was reported on Saturday morning, prompting an immediate investigation to track down and apprehend the well-known suspect who remains on the run. Ranku raised concern about the prevalence of rape cases in his jurisdiction, particularly those occurring during the nighttime. Many of these incidents involve individuals who had been drinking together and some victims are targeted either while returning home from the bar or even while they are asleep at home.
