Defilement suspect commits suicide

FRANCISTOWN: Residents of Sebina village were Wednesday afternoon shocked following the discovery of the body of a Kutlwano Junior Secondary School teacher in Gweta, hanging from a tree along the Nyamambisi River.

"We are investigating a suicide incident which was reported to us Wednesday afternoon at around 1830 hours. The body of a 41-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in Sebina," reported acting Tutume police station commander, Assistant Superintendent Onkemetse Mothalawapitse.

He pointed out that the deceased was a teacher at Kutlwano JSS in Gweta. Unfortunately for the police, they did not have full details as to why the teacher who held the position of a Head of Department at the school, could have taken his life that way. "Even the message that he has left behind with some family members does not even give us a clue as to why he could have committed suicide," said Mothalawapitse and added that at this stage there was no lead suggesting foul play.
