Debate on sexual violence

Naledi Senior Secondary School (NSSS) will today host a debate on the Prevention of Sexual Violence in Conflict, as Botswana joins the world in increasing momentum on the initiative.

In April 2013, G8 Ministers in London adopted the Declaration on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict, while at the UN General Assembly in September 2013 launched a Declaration of Commitment to End Sexual Violence in Conflict, which has now been endorsed by around 150 governments. 

The forthcoming conference in London aims to turn these political commitments into a programme of action. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina Jolie will co-host the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict in London running from tomorrow until Friday.
