Death Knell Looms Over Mzwinila Candidacy

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) disciplinary committee last week failed to sit and decide the fate of its former youth chairperson, Kefentse Mzwinila, who now appears completely locked out of this weekend's primary elections.

He was suspended at the beginning of this month by party president, Ian Khama although the BDP congress recently rejected the proposition to give its leader sweeping powers to expel or suspend a member.

Credible sources say the youthful leader is accused of voter trafficking. He is also said to have signed in more than 100 new names after the registration deadline.
