High Court Judge, David Newman has been interviewed by the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) in connection with undisclosed investigations, sources say.

Speculation is that the DCEC interviewed Newman on instruction from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) which ordered probes on dealings between Newman's former firm, Collins Newman Attorneys and the Tourism Development Consortium.

The instruction from DPP comes after correspondence between them and the law firm representing former Debswana Managing Director, Louis Nchindo, his son Garvas Nchindo, Joe Matome and Jacob Sesinyi in a case before village magistrate court. DPP is seeking the firm to recuse itself from the case because they could become potential witnesses or even be charged. In the wake of the former Debswana employees case, DPP had written to Colllins Newman law firm thus:
