Cyber crime bill due for Parliament

The Cyber Crime and Computer Related Crimes draft bill will be tabled before Parliament after it was published in yesterday's Government Gazette.

The new bill by the Minister for Communications, Science and Technology, Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi, wants a law to prevent crime done through information technology.

"The object of the bill is to combat cyber-crime and computer-related crime, to repress criminal activities perpetrated through computer systems and to facilitate the collection of electronic evidence," explains the minister in her introduction.
