Customer Satisfaction In Public Service Disappointing

The Directorate of Public Service Management has found that customer satisfaction in the public service stands at 25 percent.

Presenting a public service perspective at the National Productivity Convention at Phakalane Golf Estate recently, the directorate's Taboka Nkhwa revealed that in the study conducted in 2005, it became apparent that the majority of people are not happy with customer service in the public service.

Issues of concern include lack of a welcoming environment due to negative attitudes of frontline and desk officers. Nkhwa revealed that there is poor signage and inaccessibility of government offices for the physically disabled.
