Crooked tender fixed at Francistown school

FRANCISTOWN: Refurbishment of the Francistown College of Education (FCE) appears to be progressing well after the Court of Appeal reinstituted the tender about six months ago, says school principal, Sir-Wonder Masebola.

The court ruled that a new tendering process was done after an employee at the Department of Buildings and Engineering Services (DEBS) tempered with the tender document before handing it over to the director for signing.

Two local companies battled over who was the rightful winner of the tender. While a Chinese company, Unik Construction thought that they had won the tender, proceeding to go on site, Buildswana was also on record as the rightful winner of the P11 million tender.
