This is a tool that if used properly would help in investigating serious crimes, Deputy Commissioner of Police Thebeyame Tsimako explained to Mmegi this week. He said they need the equipment as soon as possible. He said they had learnt that in other countries the equipment is very effective. Tsimako said that they intend to distribute the equipment to busy urban police stations because it would be very expensive to cover the entire country.
Meanwhile, at a conference on Trans-National Organised Crime (TNOC) held at the Otse Police College yesterday Tsimako said the police are facing serious challenges in fighting crime. The objective of the workshop was to share information on TNOC; to involve stakeholders and partners in combating TNOC; as well as to advocate for a strategic approach to organised crime nationally by implementing United Nations Trans-National Organised Crime (UNTOC).
