A South African Post Office manager, Janrus Kotsi says home deliveries to Botswana addresses will lead to job creation particularly in rural areas.

"If the country is serious about locating its communities, home delivery is the best way to go. Collecting mail and delivering it in a particular village will create employment in the rural areas. In a country like Botswana, direct marketers would know where people are.
Lack of physical address is causing people in the rural areas not to get services," he said.

Speaking at the recent consultative forum on "Addressing Botswana" workshop organised by Botswana Post , Kotsi said though there would be some challenges, home delivery of mail in Botswana - as it is sparsely populated - Post code system addressing would lead "to citizen participation and a sense of belonging".
