Court to determine admissibility of evidence

The case of six police officers accused of killing Italy Keedirile Setlampoloka has been referred to the High Court for determination of whether or not the summary of evidence is admissible.

The case has been set for hearing on October 8 before Judge Zibani Makhwade of the Lobatse High Court.

The case made it to the Magistrate court over three months ago. However, the six accused police officers are yet to be committed to the High Court to be tried for murder. After the decision by Judge Makhwade, the case would be referred back to the magistrate court where it is expected that committal proceedings would resume.
