Court rules in favour of BMWU

The Industrial Court has ruled in favour of the Botswana Mine Workers' Union (BMWU) on preliminary points raised by contractors in the case in which those who worked in the halted Activox construction site want compensation for termination of employment.

The contractors raised preliminary objections saying that the case was unprocedurally brought before the Industrial Court by the BMWU. They argued that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the case because it was not filed properly.
