Court convicts two for stock theft

FRANCISTOWN: Two men accused of stock theft will know their fate today after a magistrates court found them guilty on all four counts of stock theft they were each facing.

The duo, Patrick Kgosi and Moneedi Kasala were convicted of stealing 17 goats belonging to four different farmers on June 13, 2010 at Senganeng cattle post, near Tonota in the central district.

Boikhutso Johane, who is Kgosi's live-in lover was acquitted of the charges and later turned into an accomplice witness. During the judgement it emerged that Kgosi and Kasala denied the charges when they appeared before senior magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu during the proceedings of the trial.
