Councillors blame women for lack of progress

MOLEPOLOLE: It has been observed that women in leadership positions, especially councils, have not been courageous enough to raise and address issues that affect womenfolk.

Some female councillors in Kweneng District Council (KDC) have confirmed that their voice is not heard as it was anticipated it would. They mostly blame cultural beliefs for this setback. 

It was previously believed that the numerous challenges women face were due to the perpetuate absence of women in councils and other leadership positions. Some women have indicated that local culture plays a major role, and it would not be an easy task for any woman to break the shell.
