Council wins right to build bridge

FRANCISTOWN: The High Court here has granted the Francistown City Council (FCC) the go ahead to continue construction work on a bridge to connect the Blue Town and Monarch neighbourhoods.

The applicant, Gerald Estates, has applied to the court restraining, interdicting and prohibiting the FCC from carrying on or commencing any road building or other construction work on the applicant's property namely portions 65, 66 and 68 of Portion Three of Farm 35 NQ Gerald Estates.

Gerald Estates wanted FCC and Zebra Construction or their invitees, employees or agents subjected to mutual agreed arrangements regarding security and safety of the equipment of the respondents currently on any portion of the applicant's property forthwith or at the latest, within 24 hours of the date of the court order, to vacate the applicant's property.
