Corruption out, warns Nganunu

Chief Justice Julian Nganunu has warned the judiciary that nothing would cost it dearly than the public perception that it was "so corrupt that it could be bought".

Addressing magistrates at the Phakalane Resort recently, Nganunu cautioned that "If you, the judiciary, should deteriorate to that position, then we stand a great risk of being looked down upon and despised".

The chief justice pointed out that the judgements delivered by the country's courts under such circumstances stand the great risk of not being trusted as given impartially and in good faith.
