Mogoditshane police have launched a manhunt for suspect(s) in the murder of a 48-year-old school teacher. The murder occurred at Foka ward in Kopong.

The suspects are said to have used the victim's blood to write a message that reads "277 Die" on her bedroom wall.

Investigating the gruesome murder incident, Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Russ Letsebe said they received the report on Thursday morning at around 4am.

"It looks like the suspect(s) destroyed a window to gain entry into the house and attacked the woman while she was sleeping. The victim was with her six-year-old child who later managed to escape and alerted their neighbours about what transpired. We do not know if this awful act was done by one person or if there were many as yet. Investigations to establish what transpired are ongoing and the suspect(s) are still at large," he said.

Asked whether some of the deceased's body parts were removed or missing, Letsebe could not confirm, but only said the victim was butchered.
