Committee of inquiry meets resistance

FRANCISTOWN: The committee of enquiry in the 2010 examination crisis has met with resistance in Francistown after people questioned its objectivity.

Yesterday in a meeting at the civic hall participants voiced their concern about the committee and accused it of bias as it was set up by the same ministry that has misunderstandings with teachers. "It is the minister or the ministry and the teachers who do not get along and then the same minister makes up the commission, it does not sound very objective," said councillor Ignatious Moswaane.

He said that the fact that this commission would be reporting back to the same minister, Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi did not sound promising. "The minister does not get along with teachers and then this commission will report back to the same player," he said in doubt.
