The Court of Appeal (CoA) has deferred an appeal in which BLLAHWU Burial Society had taken the Registrar of Trade Unions and Employers’ Organisations to court. The lawsuit was for ‘illegally’ registering the constitution of the Botswana Land Boards, Local Authorities and Health Workers Union (BLLAHWU), which seeks to regulate the burial society.

Yesterday, the parties agreed that the appeal should be deferred while awaiting judgement on a matter before Justice Leatile Dambe in which the union wants the court to interdict the burial society from using its deduction code.
