Co-ordinator of community trust fired for misconduct

SELEBI-PHIKWE: After suspending him for alleged gross misconduct that threatened the existence of the organisation, Palapye Development Trust (PDT) has finally terminated the contract of its co-ordinator.

The chairman of the PDT Board of Trustees, Dithapelo Tshotlego, says the alleged gross misconduct of the co-ordinator mainly involved misuse of funds and lack of consultation.

PDT was placed under the hammer in 2007 for failure to pay the National Development Bank a loan for the construction of a mall behind BP Filling Station in Palapye. The property attached for the auction was Plot 7384 of the trust, measuring 4828 square meters including BP Filling Station, a Quick Shop and Southern Fried Chicken together with four separate toilets and a tarred parking area.
