Cllr slams GCC mayor over street vendors

Councillor for Sebele ward, Lemme Kgopa has lambasted Gaborone mayor Harry Mothei for barring street vendors from attending council meetings.

He dismissed the mayor's defence that people are not allowed to sit on the floor inside the council chamber during meetings.

Kgopa was speaking a day after the full council meeting was adjourned because the chamber was jam-packed with street vendors who had gone to listen to the state of the city address by the mayor.
