Clients dismayed by service at Maid Centre

Clients of Maid Centre have complained that they do not get value for money in the domestic workers they employ through the job training and placement centre.

They cry that in spite of duly paying the centre, the maids are not supervised and do not report for work. They added that the workers even leave work for no reason. They further complain that the centre would not refund them when a maid does not show up for work or leaves for unexplained reasons.

Customers of the Maid Centre have also questioned the age of some maids, whom they allege to be just under 18 years of age. They say the 'minors' do not seem to have undergone any training. Clients said the establishment charges them P400 at once to interview a maid and P320 to take her home.  For her part, owner of the Maid Centre, Cinderella Malabola said clients pay P200 for approaching her and interviewing some of her 'trained' maids. Then they pay a further P200 for a contract before they take the maid home.
