Clemency board yet to respond to Dube's appeal

Lawyers representing condemned prisoner, Gerald Dube, say they are still awaiting a response from the Office of the President regarding their clemency application.

Ookeditse Maphakwane says they made a formal application to the Clemency Board a month ago. "We have long filed the application with the executives, but we haven't received any response," the lawyer says.

The clemency application comes after the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Francistown High Court and dismissed the case brought by the Zimbabwean national last August.
