Child Maintenance Defaulter Remanded

FRANCISTOWN: A young father stood transfixed in the dock as he failed to account for his negligence of his child support needs for almost seven years.

Mmoloki Gasenna, who is in his late 30s, appeared before Regional Magistrate Lorraine Makati-Lesang last week on a charge of failing to comply with a court order to pay maintenance for his child.

In almost seven years, Gasenna only made payments in June 2002 and August 2003. He landed himself in trouble as he lied to the court that he had been living with the child.
