Charges against Seretse & Co amended

The State yesterday amended the charge sheet in the case against Bakang Seretse, Botho Leburu, Kenneth Kerekang and Khulaco Pty Ltd.

The four accused have been charged with a single count of money laundering, contrary to Section 47 of the Proceeds and Instruments of Crime Act.

The particulars of offence in the charge states: “The accused persons, on date unknown to the prosecution, but between September 5, 2017 and November 27 2017, in Gaborone, acting jointly and with common purpose received, possessed, disguised and disposed of P250,000,000 knowing or suspecting or having reasonable grounds to know or suspect that the money was derived or realised in a whole or in part, directly or indirectly from the commission of a confiscation offence, to wit, theft”.
