Cellphone lands Zimbabwean in court

FRANCISTOWN: A Zimbabwean man has appeared before a magistrate to answer charges of possession of stolen property and house break-in. David Moyo was hauled before senior magistrate Peggy Madandume after he was allegedly caught selling a stolen cellphone at the Francistown bus rank.

Special constable Goabaone Kalayakgosi of the Francistown Police Station told the court that he was on patrol when he arrested the accused on September 8 last year at the bus rank. Moyo was reportedly selling a sky blue 1110 Nokia cellphone.

The court heard that Kalayakgosi in the company of two police officers spotted Moyo from a distance marketing the phone to people who did not show interest.
