CCA withholds judgement in case to return bogadi

FRANCISTOWN: The President of the Customary Court of Appeal (CCA), Kgosi Christopher Masunga on Monday reserved a judgment in a case in which a woman demanded back P9,000 in bride price/bogadi.

Lizzy Moatswi appealed a court order by the presiding officer of Gerald Estate Customary Court, Paul Moswane, to pay back the bride price that was paid by one Margaret Mondiya during the weeklong circuit session of the CCA recently.

"You made this appeal because you said that the Presiding Officer, Paul Moswaane, did not listen to your side of the story but rather proceeded to attach your goods in the sum equivalent to P9,000," Kgosi Masunga said to the appellant. "You also stated that you were tired of the Gerald Estate Customary Court because you did not work, as you spent most of your time there."
