FRANCISTOWN: A magistrate convicted a man on his own plea of guilty for stealing a motor vehicle.  Leonard Mabutho admitted committing the offence on February 12, 2013 before magistrate Sijabuliso Siziba yesterday.

The prosecution said that Mabutho was given a Corolla Sprinter (B297 AUN) by Gofenyamang Ntohollo to use as a taxi in Francistown but he then sold it to Mohammed Shanawaz of Akum Motors in Mogoditshane, Gaborone for P17,000 without the permission of the owner.  The prosecutor, Mmoloki Motsilenyane said they are not able to present the stolen car before court because it is having a battery problem.
