Call to amplify strike

SEROWE: Civil servants who attended a Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) star rally here yesterday have applauded the union federation's call to amplify the strike as means of inflicting more economic harm to compel the government to act.

Openly calling for defiance, BOFEPUSU said its members should no longer apply for permits because lawlessness had now become the order of the day in Botswana.

BLLAWU Secretary General, Ketlhalefile Motshegwa, said it took the government only two days to close schools when the strike had started a month ago.
