Call For Organ Donations

Member of Parliament for Francistown West, Tshelang Masisi, and his wife, Ntetleng, say at least 21 people are in need of organ transplants while five have already died in the past year because they had no donors.

They said this at a press briefing about progress at the Organ Bank that they have established. The foundation was formed in March last year. Tshelang, who survived death after his wife donated a kidney to him said that people still do not understand what the Organ Bank or transplant operations are about.

He said that diabetes and hypertension are dangerous diseases but they have been ignored because all the attention has been diverted to HIV/AIDS.
