Businessmen injured in armed robbery

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Two foreign nationals operating businesses here are nursing injuries after they were shot by criminals on Wednesday night at Ikageleng location.

Selebi-Phikwe Police Station commander Superintendent Victor Nlebesi said the criminals jumped over the security wall and forced open the front door of the duo's house.   The victims told the police that the assailants were armed with a pellet gun.Nlebesi said the victims have been admitted at Selebi-Phikwe government hospital for yet unspecified injuries. He said he was still awaiting information on the duo's current state of health from the hospital.

"The criminals got away with six cell phones and less than P5,000 in cash. We have not arrested anybody in connection with the offense. We appeal to members of the public to assist the police with any information that could lead to the arrest of the criminals," said Nlebesi.He pleaded with the business community to avoid keeping money in their houses. He advised that they deposit money every business day.
