Business Botswana calls for reforms at HLCC

Business Botswana has described the High Level Consultative Council (HLCC) as a forum for leaders who “congregate to seek consensus or concur with each other”.

The Business Botswana chairperson, Lekwalo Mosienyane, criticised the council at the opening of its meeting last week.

“It is in the interest of all of us to ensure that the HLCC meetings have a laser-like focus on creating the best environment for growth of the private sector,” he said. “I have noted that parties to the HLCC are concerned about the effectiveness of the HLCC.”
