LOBATSE:After John Kalafatis was shot point-blank, his alleged murderers planted bullets on his body to make it look like he had been armed when they killed him. That is the argument made by the State lead counsel, Ambrose Mubika in the ongoing trial yesterday morning. Speaking during the cross-examination of the first accused Dzikamani Mothobi, Mubika argued that the implicated members of Botswana Defence Force planted the bullets to frame Kalafatis after they shot him.

Mubika said Mothobi, "Lance Corporal Gotshosamang Sechele, 36; Lance Corporal Ronny Matako, 35; and Corporal Boitshoko Maifala, 37 wanted to create an impression that Kalafatis was armed when they allegedly killed him."
