BTU defends in-service students at FCE

The Botswana Teachers Union (BTU) has come out with funs blazing in defence of the in-service students at the Francistown College of Education (FCE) who were forced to go for teaching practice without an allowance.

This follows an interview on national television with the principal of the institution, Wonder Masebola who stated that the students were being influenced by "certain" unions to defy decisions taken by the leadership of the institution.

In response, BTU president Pule Ramabyaa said they have a right to speak on behalf of the in-service students who are members of his union.  "Infact, Masebola should be given the boot for continuing to delay availing the relevant documents, hence inconveniencing the students,' Ramabyaa said.
