BSWA urges social workers to sign-up

Botswana Social Workers Association (BSWA) has urged social workers to join the association. This plea was made yesterday at a stakeholder meeting held at Oasis Lodge in Tlokweng.

The meeting was intended to teach and inform people about social work as a profession, as well as share the association's current status. The president of BSWA, Kgomotso Johnman told Mmegi that they currently have 800 members out of 3,000; about 26.6 percent of the total number of social workers in Botswana.

"It is hard work for the association to lure all social workers, on board because it's up to an individual to join us," he said. He further told Mmegi that during his visits to other countries, he realised that social workers in different countries were all members of the association except in Botswana.
