Broadhurst police probe serious accident

Four people, two drivers and two passengers have been hospitalised at Gaborone Private Hospital (GPH) after sustaining serious injuries following a collision that happened opposite Glen Valley Barracks on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred at around 1:30am following a collision between a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Cross. Broadhurst Police Station commander, Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae said the 32-year-old man, who was driving a Toyota Corolla coming from north heading south, lost control of the car.

She then drove on the pavement, hitting a Toyota Cross that was moving in the opposite direction, causing a head-on collision, he said. "The Toyota Corolla driver was in the company of a 31-year-old woman and the 43-year-old woman who was driving a Toyota Cross car was in the company of her 10-year-old son.

"The Toyota Corolla driver sustained serious head injuries and a fractured right thigh and is currently fighting for his life while hospitalised at GPH," Lokae added. Lokae further stated that his passenger and the Toyota Cross driver were complaining of back pains whilst the minor had chest pain. He said all of the accident victims are currently hospitalised at GPH.
