Police are currently probing a distressing incident involving a 23-year-old woman from Kgalapitse, on the outskirts of Oodi village, who was raped on Friday afternoon after going on a date with the suspect. According to the police, the pair met for a date at around 3pm on Friday.

The suspect, a 39-year-old carpenter, suggested a drive and they headed into the bush. It was during this drive that he forcibly demanded sex and raped the victim. Broadhurst Police Station commander, Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae revealed that the incident was reported at around 9pm on Friday.

An immediate investigation was launched, leading to the swift arrest of the suspect that same night, he said. "The suspect is currently in custody for investigations as police are trying to find out what really transpired during their date," Lokae stated.
