BPH crisis: Over 100 to be retrenched

A week after the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS) sought Lobatse High Court protection from creditors, indications are that some Bokamoso Private Hospital employees will lose their jobs to save it from collapse.

Sources have revealed that some employees have already been served with letters that portend a bleak future.

Also awaiting the hospital is likelihood of a new management company within the next few months. In a joint interview this week, the Chief Operations Officer for Associated Fund Administrators (AFA) Duncan Thela and Rose Tatedi confirmed that it was BPOMAS that approached the High Court to appoint two provisional trustees after an independent business review revealed that there were serious financial problems at the hospital.
