BPC employee pleads guilty to cash theft

FRANCISTOWN: A Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) employee pleaded guilty on Wednesday to stealing P500,000.

Kenneth Maruapula, 33, was making an initial appearance before Principal Magistrate Sijabuliso Siziba at the Francistown Magistrates’ Court where he is accused of stealing P567,145.86 between December 2010 and March 2012 from the corporation. Maruapula is an accountant with BPC. 

The money came into his possession by virtue of his employment.
