Botswana wants closureon climate meetings

Botswana wants closure from the previous climate change meetings, Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Kitso Mokaila told a media gathering yesterday in Gaborone.

He said that they want to see serious commitment to the Kyoto Protocol, which agreed to reduce greenhouse emissions and pledged money for the development of Third World countries in a sustainable way.

He said that when they get to Durban to attend the up-coming 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, they want to be appraised with facts and set targets on what the First World is doing to reduce damage to the atmosphere.
