Botswana supports Friends of Syria Contact Group initiative

In a press statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that: "Botswana fully supports this initiative, which serves as another alternative international diplomatic effort aimed at resolving the current crisis in Syria."  The statement continues to say that it is through the effort that a viable solution would be found to free Syrian people from tyranny.

The ministry states that Botswana has formally written to the members of the Friends of Syria Contact Group to welcome and commend them for the initiative.
