Botswana blessed with coal aplenty

The Mmamabula Energy Project (MEP) by CIC Corporation expected to commence next year is going to create an estimated 1,150 jobs for labourers and skilled staff.

He said that the project that is estimated to cost P30 billion will be done in two phases and the first phase is expected to be complete by 2013. 
Mmamabula is the biggest privately funded project in Botswana, and among the top five in Africa.

 
"According to Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA), CIC energy was the largest Foreign Direct Investor in Botswana last year spending over P200 million," stated Marais.
