Botswana bids Mbaka goodbye

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mompati Merafhe bid farewell to the Kenyan High Commissioner, Charles Mbaka after his two-year stint in Botswana.

The farewell dinner in honour of Mbaka was held at Gaborone Sun on Monday evening.
Merafhe commended Mbaka for his efforts to bring the countries closer together. He said it was through Mbaka's efforts that Kenya hosted the first meeting of Botswana-Kenya Joint Commission on Cooperation in June 2006.

Merafhe said that the two governments undertook to strengthen cooperation in different areas including human resources development, civil aviation, agriculture and health. He said there have been a number of exchanges between the two governments at official level, which include having a delegation from the Department of Wildlife of Kenya visiting Botswana to meet their counterparts.
