Botswana attracts international criminals

He told a conference on Trans-National Organised Crime (TNOC) at Otse Police College that his organisation has no mandate to investigate the origin of any investor and his money. He said that it would be a reverse action if DCEC is to investigate investors that Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA) have worked hard to attract to Botswana.

He said that BEDIA is more interested in bringing investors than knowing about their background or anything else.  Unfortunately BEDIA were not present to answer questions after the CEO Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba and her delegation came late to the conference and left early. They only entertained two questions from participants.
