Borolong teachers boycott lessons

FRANCISTOWN: Borolong Primary School teachers boycotted lessons last Thursday and Friday to protest a lack of classrooms. The teachers were not happy that they teach in open-air classes.

The school does not have enough classrooms to accommodate all learners. In response to the boycott, Senior Assistant Council Secretary of Tonota Sub-District Council Terrence Ntalabgwe urged parents to transfer their children to Chadibe Primary School which he said has plenty of vacant classrooms.

Ntalabgwe made the response following questions sent to him by Mmegi on Monday. Ntalabgwe said Chadibe has a lesser population compared to Borolong thus resulting in the school not having many pupils and classrooms lying idle.
