FARNCISTOWN: Residents of Borolong in Tonota North constituency have complained about the slow pace of development in the village.

Speaking at a meeting attended by area MP Fidelis Molao on Tuesday, they said that the village does not have enough water, electricity and housing. A resident, Sebego Molema said that Borolong is a big village and should not face water shortages. "We do not have water in the village and at times, we even go up to two weeks without water.

Another thing is that I hardly see my water bills and this makes me think that Water Utilities Corporation is not doing its job to better the situation," he said. He said that the village can go for three days without electricity. At the meeting, Molao said something is being done to address shortage of housing for civil servants. "Though the problem has long existed, the villagers are not cooperating, you raise rent rates too high thus this does not enable people earning small salaries to pay rent," said Molao.
